Anastassia Demeshko, MPH
Anastassia is a research assistant with Global Food System & Policy Research in the School of Global Health at York University working to investigate the influence of corruption on global food systems and supporting the project on pandemic prevention and global governance. She is interested in health policy, food, and planetary health. Specifically, relating to understanding how we can transition towards a more sustainable and equitable food system, and how governance and power affect public health.
Anastassia completed her MPH at the University of Queensland, focusing on global health and epidemiology during her studies. Prior to her MPH, Anastassia also obtained her Bachelor of Biomedical Science degree at UQ and completed her Honours research project in cardiovascular physiology at Oxford University. Now, she is motivated to incorporate her micro and macro understanding of health to create meaningful change for health systems, conditions, and outcomes.
